1. AGREEMENT OVERVIEW
This Change of Registrant Agreement ("Agreement") governs the transfer of domain name ownership between parties facilitated by DIYTel as the registrar. This agreement applies to all domain name ownership changes processed through DIYTel services.

2. DEFINITIONS
2.1 Key Terms
- "Current Registrant": The current legal owner of the domain name
- "New Registrant": The party acquiring ownership of the domain name
- "Transfer": The process of changing domain ownership
- "Registry": The authoritative database for the top-level domain
- "Registrar": DIYTel acting as the accredited domain registrar
3. TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Authorization Requirements
- Written authorization from Current Registrant required
- Government-issued photo identification verification
- Proof of authority for business registrants
- Completed Change of Registrant form
3.2 Eligibility Verification
- New Registrant must meet registry requirements
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- No pending legal disputes regarding domain ownership
- Payment of all applicable fees
4. TRANSFER PROCESS
4.1 Initiation
- Current Registrant submits transfer request
- Verification of identity and authorization
- New Registrant confirms acceptance of transfer
- Payment of transfer fees
4.2 Processing Timeline
- Standard processing: 5-7 business days
- Registry approval required for completion
- Email notifications sent to both parties
- Transfer confirmation upon completion
4.3 Required Documentation
- Completed Change of Registrant form
- Copy of government-issued ID for individuals
- Business registration documents for companies
- Signed authorization letter from Current Registrant
5. FEES AND PAYMENT
5.1 Transfer Fees
- Change of Registrant fee: $25.00 CAD
- Registry fees (if applicable): Variable by TLD
- Payment due before processing begins
- No refunds for completed transfers
5.2 Payment Methods
- Credit card payments accepted
- Wire transfer or EFT available
- Cheque or money order (5 business day processing)
- All fees in Canadian dollars unless specified
6. RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS
6.1 Current Registrant Responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact information
- Authorize transfer in writing
- Ensure domain is not locked or in dispute
- Pay any outstanding fees before transfer
6.2 New Registrant Responsibilities
- Provide accurate registration information
- Accept terms and conditions of registration
- Maintain current contact information
- Comply with registry policies and procedures
6.3 DIYTel Responsibilities
- Verify identity of both parties
- Process transfer according to registry requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of transfer details
- Provide status updates throughout process
7. RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS
7.1 Transfer Restrictions
- Domain must not be within 60 days of initial registration
- No pending legal proceedings involving domain
- Domain must not be subject to registrar lock
- All fees must be current and paid
7.2 Registry Restrictions
- Compliance with specific TLD requirements
- Some registries require additional documentation
- Certain domains may have transfer restrictions
- Registry policies supersede this agreement where applicable
8. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
8.1 Transfer Disputes
- Disputes must be reported within 30 days
- Written documentation required for all claims
- DIYTel will investigate and mediate disputes
- Registry policies govern final resolution
8.2 Reversal Process
- Transfers may be reversed for fraud or error
- Both parties must agree to reversal
- Additional fees may apply for reversal
- Registry approval required for reversal
9. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
9.1 Information Protection
- Transfer details kept confidential
- Information shared only as required by law
- Registry requirements may require disclosure
- Privacy protection services available
9.2 WHOIS Database
- New registrant information published in WHOIS
- Privacy protection options available
- Compliance with registry WHOIS requirements
- Accuracy of published information required
10. LIABILITY AND WARRANTIES
10.1 Limitation of Liability
- DIYTel liability limited to transfer fees paid
- No liability for registry delays or rejections
- Customer responsible for domain management post-transfer
- No warranties regarding domain value or use
10.2 Indemnification
- Parties indemnify DIYTel against transfer disputes
- Protection against third-party claims
- Responsibility for accurate information provided
- Compliance with applicable laws required
11. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
11.1 Registry Policies
- Compliance with all applicable TLD policies
- Registry terms supersede conflicting provisions
- Updates to registry policies automatically apply
- Customer notification of policy changes
11.2 Legal Requirements
- Compliance with Canadian domain regulations
- International domain law compliance
- Anti-fraud and identity verification requirements
- Cooperation with law enforcement when required
12. POST-TRANSFER OBLIGATIONS
12.1 Domain Management
- New Registrant assumes all domain responsibilities
- Renewal obligations transfer to New Registrant
- DNS management access provided upon completion
- Technical support available for transition
12.2 Record Keeping
- Transfer records maintained for 7 years
- Documentation available upon request
- Compliance with registry record-keeping requirements
- Audit trail maintained for all transfers
13. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
13.1 Cancellation Policy
- Transfer may be cancelled before registry submission
- Full refund available for cancelled transfers
- No refunds after registry processing begins
- Cancellation must be requested in writing
13.2 Failed Transfers
- Refund provided for registry-rejected transfers
- Investigation of failure reasons provided
- Assistance with correcting rejection issues
- Re-submission available at no additional cost
14. AGREEMENT MODIFICATIONS
14.1 Updates to Agreement
- Changes require 30 days advance notice

- Continued use constitutes acceptance

14.2 Registry Policy Changes
- Registry policy updates apply immediately
- Customer notification of significant changes
